If you could travel in a rocket towards Andromeda you would eventually leave our own galaxy, the Milky Way, and you might have a view like this. Stars that you see in these images all belong to our own Milky Way in the foreground so with those behind us you now just have the majesty of the giant galaxy that lies millions of light years away from us. Enjoy
M106 is around 25 million light years away, this means this is how this galaxy looked 25 million years ago, all newer light is still on it's way. The mind blowing piece is when I think that when I aligned my telescope and turned it to the heavens my camera captured photons that set off during the Early Miocene Era on Earth, a period that included Sabre Tooth Tigers. Crazy
In the Summer of 2020 we got a special visit from the depths of the solar system. Comet NEOWISE. In the Summer I get zero actual full darkness so chasing it was difficult, it did mean I was able to combine comets with this beautiful sunrise gradient. Enjoy.
