The Evolution of Visual Expression : A Tale of Art and Technology
The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into the world of art can be a controversial topic, with some expressing concern that it may threaten the livelihood or exploit the work of artists.
I can see multiple perspectives to this argument, but think it's important to remember that the ethical use of Alinart Al in art is simply a new form of artistic expression that can coexist alongside and complement more traditional forms of art There's nothing inherently nefarious about the technology, as with most things, it's all about how we use it.
I don't see Al as a threat to traditional artists. Just as the invention of the camera did not replace the art of painting, the incorporation of Al does not diminish the value of more traditional art forms.
The use of Al in art can provide new opportunities for collaboration and experimentation as it allows artists to explore new mediums and techniques, and to push the boundaries of what was previously thought possible. However, I do agree with those opposing Al that simply prompting another artists work and calling that your own creation isn't ethical, or exciting. The technology should be explored more optimally than this.
I am personally only involving Al in my personal art without prompting the work of any pre existing artists, instead exploring the technology with some of the brightest machine learning developers in the world to pursue new styles and mediums that haven't yet been developed. I've taken a year off from feed posts to work on irl events and new art. I've developed a unique blend between 3D renderings, p5js generative art and scribbled symbology that I'm utterly excited by and will be sharing soon
