I made this for us. It’s my version of “wrapped” for SCENES – a year on from the first single release and the platform going live. And it’s not finished yet. This video shows the journey of SCENES, from the initial concept through all the journey that you were a part of.
What started as an idea about reminding people of the emotional value of music grew into an MVP that, with your support, guidance, and funding, made its way to a first version. We updated and developed it as we went along.
The content was created by you, and in the end, the real value was found by those who took part in the process. It was ahead of its time, evolving into a collaborative piece of performance art that captured our moods and emotions during a period when the internet was reshaping our personal spaces and our ability to connect with one another.
SCENES remains an ongoing experiment in co-creation – not for metrics, streams, or likes, but for us. It exists in our dark forest because we want it to, and because it brings us value.
It has taken music into your world and out into the wider world. I’ve spoken about the project at conferences in Hamburg, Leipzig, ADE, and London, as well as gigs in Paris and London. Next year, the book will serve as a prelude to an exhibition that will take your memories and inspire others to reflect.
What began with a simple prompt, drawn from the concept of the music, has grown into something more. Now, your memories will serve as prompts to encourage others to reflect on what matters most in their lives.
If you’ve made it this far then this album project clearly mattered to you. Thanks for taking part, thanks for helping me fund it. It means the world to me ❤️
There’s so much I want to say about Network Archives 001: A Directory Of Inspiration not just because I’ve worked so hard on it, but because it symbolises so much of what I care about and have been inspired by over the last few years, and at the centre of it all is the creators. Their use of technology, the level of creativity, their work ethic, the co-ordination skills, the execution of ideas, they way they have built communities, developed an audience, told their stories, shared their process, their thoughts, their knowledge and continued to push the boundaries of their art, but also importantly to me; re-imaging what being a music artist even is. I have been lucky to be in and around the birth of a few music scenes in my life, and although it has no category or name, to me the world I have been operating in since starting Sound of Fractures felt very similar. One of realisations I’ve had is its as close to the Scenius concept I have been. I have found myself continually being inspired, learning, being pushed not just creatively but also in terms of my mental models, giving me the confidence to use technology creatively and apply my skills to new mediums. So, its not just the music that has reinvigorated my love of being an artist, it has also been finding so many inspiring other artists on a similar journey.
The contributors to this collection may not even agree that there is a connection between their work, but history has shown that the threads between us are often only visible when we look back. I hope that by collating these unique projects together, that the energy that I have felt over this time is encapsulated in some way and becomes more visible. There is a thing happening here, and enclosed are examples of the different questions creators are asking through their work, in an attempt to find answers in an uncertain time for the value of music. During the last 3 years the emergence of the blockchain provided flexible tool for creators, one that served as a playground for ideas, formats and approaches, and provides a underlining catalyst to the content of the zine. Although the tools were at times clunky and hard to use, it offered less boundaries than we were used to, and out of that creative window ideas blossomed. Whether some of these ideas could have been executed in different ways is missing the point, the point is that its existence triggered something in us all at a time when streaming and platform models felt like they were restricting us and failing us. Yes the technology and tools we use will evolve and change, but in each iteration new ideas, new models and new ways of seeing ourselves will emerge and this zine documents one of these moments, where artists are leading the way, taking risks, asking questions and experimenting.
After writing this, I realise this project is, in many ways, a thank you—to all those around me and the many others we didn’t have time to include in this first edition. It’s my way of sharing the value I’ve gained from the incredible ideas I’ve been exposed to and inspired by. There’s so much knowledge in these pages, so much to learn for creators of all kinds. While technology will keep evolving, the key takeaway here is this: we need to build worlds that are unique to our identities. If you want to understand how to do that, read this zine. Honestly, it’s the best advice I can give to any musician, manager, or fan looking for fresh ideas. This is the kind of knowledge and insight we rarely get access to. So, take this opportunity—buy the zine, and most importantly, share it. Share it publicly, share it with your fellow creators. To me, this zine is more valuable than any short course or TikTok guide. It’s the real work, the real ideas, from voices in the trenches, experimenting when it would be so much easier to follow trends or service algorithms. Too often, our ideas are reframed by platforms and brands as their own, or knowledge is shared without credit. My hope is that Network Archives becomes a home for artist-led knowledge and research, a space that positions creators where they belong and inspires others to share their processes. No matter your genre, style, background—whether you’re a founder, manager, marketer, or creator—there’s something here for everyone to connect with and be inspired by.
It’s important to end this post by acknowledging something: creating work that pushes boundaries is incredibly hard. It takes so much energy to create, develop, and promote these kinds of projects. This zine was made possible by Executive Producer C.Y. Lee, whose support funded the design and the time needed to bring it to life. Without that backing, and the work by Jade Garcia who as producer worked on this as tirelessly with me, Network Archives 001 wouldn’t exist. The creators featured in this zine are doing the hard work, often spending their own money to explore answers—not just for themselves, but for all artists and for the future of independent music as a whole. Your support plays a vital role in this effort. Buying the zine or supporting any of the creators whose work resonates with you is more than a transaction; it’s a way to help build sustainable independent music ecosystems that have shaped so many of our identities. This newsletter also offers a paid subscription option, and with every new subscriber, I can dedicate more time to what truly matters to me—projects like this, that amplify voices and ideas worth sharing. If you’ve found value in what I create, I’d be deeply grateful for your support.
"My Love For You," created in collaboration with Korus. This remix serves as a prelude to an exciting new chapter, where fans will soon have the opportunity to interact directly with Sound of Fractures' music, remixing and reshaping it through Korus’ intuitive platform as ‘My Love For You’ is released officially on Korus. Crucially, this collaboration with Korus is built on Kor Protocol that aims to fairly attribute and recognize the creative IP of all contributors, creating an equitable ecosystem ensuring that creators have control and transparency over their IP, from licensing to distribution. This AI-driven remixing experience marks the beginning of an ongoing journey, inviting listeners to move beyond passive listening and become active co-creators, this time inviting them to play with the music and share what they make. The Sound of Fractures Remix Pack will go live on 19th Nov alongside Imogen Heap, Richie Hawtin, Black Mirror, Dixon and Transmoderna.
It’s beautifully messy and odd in a way that real life is. It embodies all the emotions that led me here, it's a cathartic release, a love letter to the people that have shaped my life, it's the song you sing in the mirror when no one can see you.
It’s beautifully messy and odd in a way that real life is. It embodies all the emotions that led me here, it's a cathartic release, a love letter to the people that have shaped my life, it's the song you sing in the mirror when no one can see you. It's also the song that my kids like to go nuts and dance around the room too, and it's my family I see and feel every time I play it.
Being a creator today means more than just releasing tracks. It’s about creating an entire ecosystem around your art. The ‘other things’ you do, like writing, teaching, work, or experimenting with new mediums, can be just as valuable. They’re not distractions – they’re extensions of your creative world
We set out to build something that was an expermint:
Off platform Crowd funded Co-created
The success metric: EMOTIONAL CONNECTION
Over 350 memories were submitted and turned into Scenes, capturing a moment in time and asking us to take a step back and reflect.
People stopped, took time out of their lives and and engaged a process that connected music and emotions 🎶
We raised $5k to build the custom platform through the Sound of Fractures Token - I wanted to build a world and bring people to it, and to do that we could rely on normal funding models. They were broken.
This enable the project to travel beyond the niche that funded it, and out into the world.
Because it wasn’t about the blockchain, that was the tool that allowed us to own.. it was about connecting the audience + the artist ✍️
Each Scene's prompt invited us to reflect on a different part of our lives, people cried, laughed, sent them as gifts, said things they had never said before and looked inside themselves. 🫂
In a world dominated by numbers and short term metrics, we ended up feeling a part of something bigger than us and creating memories while revisiting memories.
We became part of a on going pice of performance art 🖼️
Woven into the collective experience were 6 songs:
I had sampled my life and put it in the music and I got to invite you to contribute your life too. 🔊
It was was an amazing moment to see the project win one of the second place prizes in the @Optimism We Love The Art Competition - It was really hard to take in and a special moment for everyone.
Rising UK-based electronic artist and producer, Jamie Reddington, better known as Sound of Fractures, announces the launch of his groundbreaking project, "Scenes". The interactive album invites fans to contribute their favourite memories and photographs in response to each song, which are then turned into a unique gallery of “Scenes.” One chosen Scene will then be used as the main artwork. More than 100 fans have already contributed to the project since it launched, establishing a new way to release albums and proving that fans can be active collaborators rather than just passive listeners.
“Music isn't just about sound; it's about the memories and emotions they evoke. ‘Scenes’ is an effort to give a tangible form to this abstract connection and capture it in something we can recognise,” shares Reddington. “Each song and its accompanying ‘Scenes’ will populate a digital gallery. An archive that's a living testament to how music interacts with life moments in today's social media-dominated era." At the culmination of each submission period, a singular song's Scene will be chosen, used as the main artwork for the release and encapsulated forever as digital collectables, further enabling supporters to contribute to the world of Sound of Fractures.

An archive that's a living testament to how music interacts with life moments in today's social media-dominated era." The interactive album invites fans to contribute their favourite memories and photographs in response to each song, which are then turned into a unique gallery of “Scenes.” One chosen Scene will then be used as the main artwork.

For those that contributed to SOF Token, you all played an role in making this project a reality, and i can't thank you enough. You all put in your personal funds to create a project that was for everyone and that the usual funding mechanisms couldn't see the vision for. This is not a normal thing, this was a real example of us making art on our own terms, something that ive never experienced before. words are not enough, but thank you xx

We are all creative …. Maybe you are good at more than you realise?
I thought making music was the only thing that I could do, now I’m starting to see everything I put in that process can be applied to so many different places… Just need to build up your confidence and create examples of work to show people.
“Scenes” A truly unique project, the album exists as a collaborative process enabled by direct to fan connection, encouraging fans to share their cherished memories and photographs in response to each track, transforming them into a unique collection of "Scenes".
The music then, is just one element of the overall idea behind Sound of Fractures - Reddington aims to rethink the concept of what an album is, how the connection between fan and musician can evolve and how, fans can contribute to and build an idea around an album.
According to Reddington, "Music goes beyond sound; it taps into the memories and emotions it awakens. 'Scenes' gives a tangible shape to this connection and preserves it in a recognisable form for fans to own. Each song, along with its corresponding 'Scene,' will populate a digital gallery, serving as a record of how music intersects with life's moments in today's social media-driven world."
The concept of world-building is at the core of Jamie's vision. In an era where music has been commodified, and artist identities often diluted, Sound of Fractures provides an alternative approach. Jamie emphasises, "World Building involves creating connections that foster strong emotional bonds around an artist's music. In today's digital age, music is not just a product; it's an entire world that fans should aspire to engage with and feel a part of."
Having explored the fusion of web2 and web3, as previously demonstrated in his “IRL” EP, Jamie is no stranger to experimenting with new formats and ways to fund his music. His passion for innovation has not only established him as a trailblazer but has also showcased the potential of new models for building artist-audience relationships without relying on major tech gatekeepers. His new album will be launched alongside an interactive platform where users upload and create authentic, shareable visual content using memories set to the backdrop of his music.

There's no better feeling than giving your all for your friends on the field; results are secondary... but when you do win, reaching those highest highs and sharing them with your friends is incomparable. You are invincible together

More about Sound of Fractures: jamie’s previous success, with tracks like the euphoric 'Real Friends’' and club-heavy 'Let Go, have showcased his distinctive synthesis of films, stories, and human emotions in his music. Sound of Fractures takes elements of Jamie XX and Burial and mixes it with found sounds, like his daughter’s heartbeat and day to day life to create a unique form of deeply emotional electronic music. This time, with "Scenes", he goes a step further, seeking to challenge the traditional album format. Instead of offering passive consumption, he sparks an active dialogue with listeners by intertwining personal stories and music. Through this new project listeners are not just passive consumers but active collaborators. The concept of world-building is central to Jamie's vision. In an era where music has become commodified, and artist identities often diluted, Sound of Fractures offers an alternative. “World Building is forging these connections that create strong emotional bonds around an artist's music. In today's digital life, music isn't just a product; it's an entire world that fans should desire to engage with, to be part of," Jamie articulates.
We are sold the idea of connection, the illusion of community but so many people still feel alone. Build your own communities. What is just a feeling, and what is actual value?

I feel like the only thing we can rely on to help us stand out these days is to be ourselves, it's the one thing we can count on that makes us unique. Putting my life into my music is my way of doing that, and has become my ‘why’.
Can we stop pretending like everything isn’t hard right now for musicians?:
Content is over saturated, from streaming to socials, even when you get good numbers converting that into meaningful connections is hard as platforms want to keep usurers scrolling.
Creating content that’s engages with an audience in a way that creates the connections you want, and doesn’t just serve the algo is hard
Touring is on its knees. Venues are closing like never before, ticketing companies and agencies are buying up remaining venues and driving up merch cuts.
Touring costs are soaring.
Vinyl is expensive to make, store and ship and the waiting times are crazy. Not to mention manufactures going under and labels loosing their deposits and stock.
Mailing lists can be great once you get going but conversion rates are 20% at best.. and creators are often are being driven to offer creator services as their trade.
Music discovery is dependant on platforms and algorithms and have lost the personal touch.
Streaming subscriptions are stalling and platforms could be moving to pay to upload and further creator monetisation.
Radio stations that have any incentive to play new music are going out of business.
The platformisation of the creative industries and our whole lives is leading to misaligned incentives and no one building for sustainability. Just reaching the next round or driving share price.
All the tools we use including distribution have switched to subscriptions.
Consumers are fed an endless cycle of content designed to zone them out and keep them on app, leaving less and less attention for art, personal connections and well anything else.
Do I need to go on ?
Shit is hard, but possible. Don’t get lost in the negative hype cycles that feed engagement. Build your own world, find value in new places. Focus on your wellbeing.
Remember the value the things you love bring to your life, and be conscious of how they can sustained in healthy ways. Help them grow, think long term and don’t just get lost in the doom scroll.
It’s free to take part and create your own Scene via the project site here: scenes-preview.soundoffractures.com/

Something is wish I had realised earlier: aim to make your day to day life now what you want it to be. What do you want your hours to be spent on? Too many of use make that our goal at the end .. when are ‘successful’. What do you want your perfect day to be? Exercise, see friends, have a relationship, spend some creating? Start by making one day a week your perfect day, then try and increase that over time.
The thing that matters to me most is that my music makes me feel something, it’s become this way for me to record my life and embed my story into what I create. I like the idea that the people I love and maybe their children will listen back one day and start to pick through the music and find all these memories buried in there. I always start writing with some kind of sample I recorded on my phone, and while digging through my audio notes I found this recording of my daughter’s heartbeat.. I recorded it during one of the early scans and had totally forgotten about it.. I knew instantly that this was the starting point for me that day. I feel like the only thing we can rely on to help us stand out these days is to be ourselves, it’s the one thing we can count on that makes us unique. Putting my life into my music is my way of doing that, and has become my ‘why’.
Those early scans can be a terrifying time, you are a bundle of nerves and heading into this great big unknown, and there is something so visceral about hearing that living heartbeat the first time. It’s one of those life moments where you are overwhelmed by emotions that you don’t quite understand, and yet you are also scared to let yourself feel them in case something goes wrong. Everytime I hear this song it takes me back to that feeling, and for me that’s what music should do: transport you somewhere. So really it’s about moments, impactful moments that music so often attaches itself too. It’s what makes music both challenging to earn a living from in the modern visual world, but also what makes it totally unique... It soundtracks our experiences and bonds to them forever.
Don’t loose sight of what really matters. What at the end of the road will you remember? What are the things that inspire you, heal you and ground you? We all look online for everything, but sometimes the smallest worlds are more rewarding than trying to reach the whole world.
It’s crazy we are always battling this narrative that we should be happy with the bare minimum, that because the system is failing independent musicians, that survival is enough. It’s not. We can build new ideas, new approaches and we will adapt. We can find value in other places than where we are told to look. We can aim for more.
Don’t wait. I’ve never started any project knowing what I’m doing. Learning because you have an idea you want to execute, or just experimenting until you find the right idea is the best way to learn.
We have been become trapped by our own perception of where the value is in what we create. The formats we are used to have become our metric for how we judge our output, and thus are intertwined with how we value ourselves. We are not one thing. We digest the world and translate it through a process, and all the facets that make up our lives have value and contribute to our art. We need to rethink how we see ourselves, our creativity and what is value to us. The process is the value.
The executive producer credit is a way to represent a contribution to a new appoach to building music projects.
It responds to a need: to provide a way for those who wish to take part in shaping culture and develop new for models for creators and audiences to interact and create value...

Introducing Sound of Fractures Token, a way to invest in Sound of Fractures and unique projects. This is more than an investment. It's a chance to be a part of something innovative, contributing to building new ideas on a project by project basis.
I'm on a journey to reimagine our relationship with music. It can't just about traditional releases anymore.
We need to be leveraging technology to build our own worlds🌐
To commemorate the release and introduce my work to new people thisopen edition will be open for 1 month.
Funds will go specifically into Sound of Fractures projects including, but not limited too: dev costs, design and marketing.
Those who contribute above project-specific targets will get Executive Producer credit on those projects.
Funding is crucial for realizing this vision. We have the tools, but to combine them in new ways and redefine what a music career looks like, we need to experiment and find new paths.
We cannot be creatively limited if we want to re-think creative careers in order to find value in our work, both for ourselves and audiences.
I believe that this means our approach needs to be unique to our identity, and not a repetition of what we have tried before.
Blockchain has removed many restraints from my creative out-put, but there's more that can be done, and there is better ways for those who contribute to feel valued.
Show you were here first, at the heart of new ideas, and help make them happen.

We need different voices, styles and approaches to help grow this thing. We need more artists to cross the tipping point of visibility and we need to those artist to attract different types of people with different interests and identities. We have a healthy and exciting scene that is growing but over the last year we have seen less and less artists develop to the higher levels of exposure, and the leaders of this movement have not been joined by new ones who could be attracting new audiences.
I hope and I want to show that the blockchain allows us to continuously re develop new ways of growing as artists and standing out provided by the flexibility of the tech we have at our disposal. Build our own worlds. Our own way and find out own people.
SCENES Wrapped 2024
It means the world to me ❤️
Speaking From My Heart_ Reflections On 'A Directory of Inspiration'

The Final SCENE ❤️ (commemorative video)
We set out to build something that was an expermint:
Off platform
Crowd funded
Co-created
Thanks so much to the judges ❤️
I Can Feel The City Breating

At the culmination of each submission period, a singular song's Scene will be chosen, used as the main artwork for the release and encapsulated forever as digital collectables, further enabling supporters to contribute to the world of Sound of Fractures.

SCENES: Painting A Canvas With Your People
A truly unique project, the album exists as a collaborative process enabled by direct to fan connection, encouraging fans to share their cherished memories and photographs in response to each track, transforming them into a unique collection of "Scenes".

Rising UK-based electronic artist and producer Jamie Reddington (aka Sound of Fractures) announces his groundbreaking project, "Scenes.” The interactive album invites fans to contribute their favourite memories and photographs in response to each of the record’s songs, encouraging a lean-in, emotional connection that’s been lost in our passive streaming environment.
“Music isn't just about sound; it's about the memories and emotions they evoke. ‘Scenes’ is an effort to give a tangible form to this abstract connection and capture it in something we can recognise,” shares Reddington. “Each song and its accompanying ‘Scenes’ will populate a digital gallery – an archive that's a living testament to how music interacts with life moments in today's social media-dominated era."

Ready to dance with my eyes closed and my mind in the clouds
invincible
I felt so relaxed
In that moment i felt weightless
Serene
We'd just danced for hours & finally felt like we found one another
Looking at Timeless Memories
Like nothing matters
Weightless
Where the sea and sky become one
I am safe. I am enough
I was a kite, floating above, in every heart below, i felt love
Just breathe and be
Alone but not lonely
Home
Looking over the vast mountains
Make your own Magic
When life was but a party
i had one of the rare peaceful moments
Ready to dance with my eyes closed
Limitless
the shimmering light of the sun
I felt like everything had always as it was meant to be
Infinity
One of our many moments in time. Sharing bliss. Feeling Free
Timelessness
Nothing else matters but enjoying the present moment
Joy couldn't be contained by the human body

Here's how I sampled my kids to make my new single
Hi im Jamie, and this is SCENES
jamie’s previous success, with tracks like the euphoric 'Real Friends’' and club-heavy 'Let Go, have showcased his distinctive synthesis of films, stories, and human emotions in his music.

I feel like the only thing we can rely on to help us stand out these days is to be ourselves, it's the one thing we can count on that makes us unique. Putting my life into my music is my way of doing that, and has become my ‘why’.
More than 150 fans have already contributed to the project since it launched, establishing a new way to release albums and proving that fans can be active collaborators rather than just passive listeners.
There's A New Way To Build A World With Your Audience
Create because of the way it makes you feel.
And finally…
Create because of the way it makes you feel.
Shouldn’t We Measure Our Love For Art By What We Give Back To It’s Creators

It all started with a sample of my daughters heartbeat
Now heres the story behind the song:

Sound of Fractures Token Launch Collage
