On June 19th, 2024 Julian and Maceo, partnered to create a series of interviews with some of the most prominent people of color building and experimenting with web3. This twitter space served as a release party for the completion of this project. Julian created the flyer and acted as cameraman in all interviews, while Maceo acted as interviewer and secured partners for this project to take place. This a huge accomplishment for We Them Media and this series is a breathtaking addition to the We Them Media portfolio. In January 2024, Steven Delevaux hosted the first Oasis Onchain Summit in his homeland, The Bahamas. Now we’re catching up at ETH Denver to discuss the future of Oasis. Steven originally joined web3 to assist during Guild Day, by Guild, which is a DAO tools company. As a Caribbean native, Stefen realized many fintech tools available in the US such as Venmo, weren't available to people back home. Now he’s spreading the word about crypto to help more individuals in the West Indies gain access to financial tools.

In this interview, we are chatting with Laura Minquini, Founder of AthenaDAO. Athena DAO is an organization focused on transformative women’s health research funding on the blockchain. During the last bull market, Laura discovered the value of cryptocurrency as a store of value and shifted to web3. Biopharma investments in specific conditions exclusively affecting women are only 1% of their total spending across the entire industry. Their collaborative mission is to bring more awareness and help attract more funding to their ecosystem.

Leo Pastel is a singer/songwriter, and designer who participated and won in the build-a-thon competition at ETH Denver. Here we sit down to discuss his role within the team, the product they created, and what it takes to find your lane in web3 as a creative who is non-technical. Leo’s team created a collector aggregator app for artists which makes a list of owners that have collected an NFT. The product they created allows for creators of NFTs to track and recognize their collectors across drops, allowing them to more easily connect with collectors who have already supported them.

This community call we discussed the mental hurdles that go along with minting. Taken 12.11.23 in Brickell in our 12-person, 4-bedroom Airbnb after we packed up. This video captures Gabrielle and Genero in conversation with me discussing their reflections on their first times being exposed to web3 communities on the trip. I asked some questions and so did they. We shot this in our dining room, the cleaning person showed up when we were about to stop so we relocated from the living room. It was dope and I hope this is the beginning of doing more content with these two bright friends of mine! :)

Taste is about Hip Hop Huh? Maybe we will see an opportunity for collaborating in the future. The event didn't have free food like advertised, but we found good company. Gabrielle met her first person who gets paid in crypto for fulltime work. In the corner, you can see for a moment all of our bags which were yet to land in an Airbnb. This was 12.07.23
