This live performance of my new song "wait for you" is clipped from Peak Sessions: a mix series inspired by life outdoors, with quarterly editions for each season of the year, filmed in different remote locations around the continental US.
I'm bringing this performance onchain with a big call for support from the music community. As many of us know, the cost of touring is becoming more and more prohibitively expensive for many artists whose primary source of revenue is from live shows. So I'd like to try something a little different, and I need help in order to make this dream a reality.
My goal is to raise $23,000 this summer to purchase and build out a used off-roading van, and turn it into a mobile music studio that allows me + collaborators to record and perform anywhere we can drive the vehicle. While a musician halfway living in their van certainly isn't a novel idea, I want to customize the vehicle so that we can power intimate live performances and DJ sets in all sorts of creative locations: from high alpine peaks to shaded canyon deserts, oceanside vistas to walmart parking lots.
One of the most important aspects of this project is having the van navigation powered by the collector community. I want Dot fans to be able to request and vote on shows and meetups in different locations, and even have the ability to travel to new places together. This can also facilitate showcases and collaborations and among Portal Music artists, and we can even give high-tier collectors the ability to book private events when they cover the (IRL) gas fees.
As both an artist and mountain athlete, I'm endlessly inspired by the connections between nature and music. I've spent the last few years of my life exploring the Idaho Wilderness and other lesser-known corners of the mountain west, and I would be incredibly thrilled to further this exploration with the support of this community. After hosting multiple artist retreats in Sun Valley since 2019, and recently completing a mountain tour from my car, this seemed like the perfect way to merge the inspiration of the outdoors with more affordable touring, recording, and collaboration.
With a goal of making the outdoors more accessible to people from all walks of life, as well as fostering connection in the independent artist community, this mobile studio would be an invaluable asset for this next chapter of my life in music.
