Flew over the island of Pico, also known as the black island due to its volcanic terrain.

The dormant volcano known as "the mountain" is the largest mountain in Portugal. It is part of an underwater mountain range. If the base of the range were above water, it would be near the size of Everest. Legend has it that the mountain is intentionally given no name out of fear and respect.

From neighboring islands the mountain is easy to see due to its size. Locals say that while on other islands you can see the mountain, on Pico, you feel the mountain.
