In my new curated art collection, I've crafted a captivating dialogue between minimalism and narrative, unfolding through two distinct series.
In "Will You Wait for Me Outside?", I paint the abstract concept of anticipation and longing, using a limited but vibrant palette of bright orange and blue. The orange embodies the comfort of familiarity, warmth, and connection, while the blue introduces the enigma and depth of the unknown. My careful balancing and interchange of these colors evoke feelings of waiting, encountering, departing, or perhaps even yearning. The use of colors, while minimal, amplifies the narrative, with each artwork narrating a different chapter of a larger tale.
"We Don’t Know Where to Stop" shares the same duotone aesthetic but delves into a darker narrative. Here, I navigate the complex terrain of suicidal ideation that surfaces from feelings of inadequacy and the relentless pressure to push oneself to the brink. The bright orange manifests as a symbol of intense, unrelenting pressure, a warning of the danger of pushing too far, while the blue represents the soothing but often ignored voice of reason or the vast, unexplored world beyond our self-imposed boundaries.
In both series, my minimalist approach doesn't restrict my storytelling but rather amplifies it. By limiting the color palette and focusing on composition, I allow room for interpretation, nudging the viewer to step into their own perceptions and emotional engagements with each piece. This collection is my testament to the power of minimalism – a celebration of the "less is more" philosophy.
